Our house specialty is southern comfort food, and every entree is prepared to order with the season's freshest and highest quality ingredients. Biscuits under a ladle of sausage gravy, country fried steak and eggs, grits with real cheddar melted over the top, omelettes folded the way you asked for them. Nothing sits under a warmer waiting for you, which is why the plate takes a few minutes longer and tastes like it. If you are eating lighter we are glad to serve you lighter, and if you are looking for something specific, just ask. We will do our best to accommodate.

The Nook has two indoor dining rooms, and outside there is plenty of room under the covered patio and at the umbrella tables on the lawn. Have a complimentary cup of coffee while you wait to be seated, and on the weekends play a friendly game of cornhole or checkers. Dogs are part of the family here, so bring yours along to the lawn tables, water bowl included. We do ask that you sign a waiver when you arrive and always keep your pup on a leash. Come as you are, let the hostess find you a seat, and take your time. Nobody is going to rush you out the door.

Breakfast To Go, Same Kitchen

Some mornings you have ten minutes instead of an hour. Order online and we will have it boxed and waiting at the counter, or send it out to your door around Lutz and Land O' Lakes. Same kitchen, same cooked to order plates, just wrapped for the road: french toast still golden, gravy still hot. Your order comes straight to our own printer here in the restaurant, so it goes to the cooks the minute you place it.

The Breakfast Nook has been an independently owned and operated breakfast and lunch restaurant on the east side of Land O' Lakes Boulevard since 2005. Together with the help of some of her long-time friends and a hard-working, dedicated crew, Cheryl Harden sees The Nook not simply as a restaurant, but as an extension of family. That is the whole idea behind this place: home cooking, a cozy room, a cup of coffee that keeps getting topped off, and a table you are welcome to sit at as long as you like. Breakfast was really really good. Service with a smile and insite. Got the country fried steak, got the biscuit and was asked if I wanted it grilled. It was the first time anyone has ever asked me if I wanted my biscuit grilled. I was to stunned to answer quickly and the waitress shook her head yes. So, I said of course .... OMG, game changer, now I wonder if I'll be able to get my biscuits grilled out in the wild and not just here. Honestly why would I even go elsewhere this place is fantastic.

Great local place to grab a home-cooked meal! Prices are very reasonable, service was awesome, clean, fantastic atmosphere, and the outdoor seating is a really nice area especially in the coolness of the Florida morning. The biscuits and gravy were good, just wished they served mimosas! Parking is a tad tricky as the lot fills up quickly, but if you walk way around the plaza, there is a bigger lot.

The breakfast nook just made it onto my top 10 breakfast places! I've been wanting to try this place out for a while and finally did a few days ago and it was phenomenal! I highly recommend coming here for breakfast and I look forward to trying a few more of their dishes. I tried the eggs, biscuits, and gravy and it was delicious! They're home. Fries are really good and both of my friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well.

Made To Order, Every Single Plate

Every entree is prepared to order with the season's freshest and highest quality ingredients. That is a slower way to run a kitchen and we do it on purpose, because a plate that waited under a heat lamp is not worth driving out for. Our house specialty is southern comfort food. For anyone who is eating a little lighter, we are delighted to serve lighter, and if you are looking for something specific that is not on the menu, ask your server. We will do our best to accommodate.

Room For Everyone, Inside And Out

There are two indoor dining rooms with clean, fresh, welcoming decor, and outside there is the covered patio plus umbrella tables on the lawn. Bring the kids, bring the grandparents, and bring the dog along to the lawn tables. On a cool Florida morning those outdoor seats are the best in Lutz, and by August the dining rooms are the most comfortable. Either way the hostess will get you settled, so come on in and give her a minute to find your spot.

A Local Favorite On Highway 41

You will find us in the yellow building on the east side of Highway 41, Land O' Lakes Boulevard, in Lutz. We open at 7:00 AM Monday through Friday and at 6:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday, and we serve breakfast and lunch straight through until 2:00 PM every day of the week. We are closed on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas so our employees can enjoy some family time.

Twenty years in, the plates that built this place are still the ones people drive out for: biscuits and sausage gravy, country fried steak and eggs, omelettes, pancakes and french toast, and a lunch menu of diner classics for the back half of the morning. Ask for your biscuit grilled at least once. The regulars will tell you the same thing.

Order online and pick it up at the counter, usually ready in about thirty minutes. Same cooked to order plates, boxed for the road.
